Most common are the wall hung, high wall units. There are also the floor standing – console type, ceiling cassettes, ceiling – suspended console & bulk head concealed type.
Electrically powered and with inverter technology, these units are quieter & more efficient than the old non-inverter types.
Ducted Split Systems – Air conditioning is capable of cooling and heating whole homes.
With larger homes, once again zoning is recommended to achieve greater efficiencies & improved comfort levels.
Consisting of an outdoor condensing unit and an indoor fan coil connected to a series of flexible duct work throughout the home. The ducting generally connects to a series of ceiling vents, quietly and effectively distributing the conditioned air throughout the home.
This type of unit is also electrically powered & inverter technology built in.
Add-On Refrigerated – Air conditioning, equipment consists of an outdoor condensing unit & the indoor coil (no fan). The fan from the central heater is utilised.
This type of equipment should be discussed & provisions made before your new gas ducted heating system is installed.
With existing central heating systems it may be possible to ‘ADD-ON’ the refrigeration equipment. The existing ductwork may all have to be replaced with lager and approved refrigerated ducting & fittings.
